An introduction to caffe culture

30 June 2010

Caffe Culture is a leading trade exhibition for Europe’s growing café bar market. 2010 is its 5th year in existence, and it was a very impressive event with the broad scope of different events and attractions. The event went over 3 days, at the Olympia exhibition centre in London, UK. I took part in the event and will be writing a series of news articles on my experiences.

The programme included 5 different world championship events, including the most coveted, the WBC. Over 50 countries took part in the experience, which included, besides the competitions, a series of seminars targeting some of the most significant coffee culture related issues faced by owners and mangers within hospitality related companies and a series of hand’s-on workshops organized by the SCAE which gave participants a chance to meet and learn from some of the world’s leading coffee experts.

The event also boasted the Collezione Enrico Maltoni Exhibition, which paid tribute to the history of Italian espresso coffee over the past 100 years, and showcased some of the most important espresso machine models in this time period.

It was an exciting event and I learned and saw so much about the best in global coffee culture. To hear more read the following articles as I go into more detail on what I saw.
